Aston Brooke offer a solution to the unprecedented workforce crisis faced by the social care sector.

It is clear that care providers are struggling to recruit and this is due to a combination of factors including low wages, the pandemic, Brexit-related workforce changes and the implementation of the double vaccination policy.

This is against a backdrop of an increasing number of adults who need support across the country.

Grant Funding

PLEASE NOTE: Applications are currently on hold for processing. For further information please contact info@eastmidscare.co.uk

During 2023/24 across the East Midlands region, funding has been available to support international recruitment – if you are a CQC registered organisation providing adult social care within the region you could be entitled to claim up to £7,500.

There are three categories of funding available:

Sponsor Licence

If you have been granted a sponsor licence within 2023-24, you can claim up to £2,500 towards the cost of the licence and any administration/ legal costs incurred.

You can submit a claim for funding even if you do not currently have any international employees

Recruit Support

The purpose of the recruit funding is to support individuals with the transition to moving to the UK, or relocation costs if a change of employer has occurred.

Below are a few suggestions on how the funding can be used, this is not an exhaustive list and all suggestions will be considered during the application approval process:

  • Driving licence and/ or driving lessons
  • ESOL or other relevant English Language courses
  • Accommodation support
  • Travel costs to meet family/ attend cultural events
  • Furniture and other items that may be needed to set up home in the UK
  • Specific training needs related to their employment

This funding is calculated based on your workforce numbers, and can be shared across recruits.

Displaced Recruit Support

We have seen an increase in the number for international workers that have become displaced through no fault of their own.  For this reason, additional funding is available to support providers with the cost of the Certificate of Sponsorship and the Skills Charge (£665.50 per person, plus £250.00 towards resettlement costs etc).

Further information about Displaced Funding can be found here
